Kaan is a trainer and facilitator and they enjoy designing workshops and residentials that centre rest and gentleness. At the moment, they are particularly interested in running: poetry and creative writing workshops, visioning workshops, grief workshops, doing container building and getting involved in organising residentials.
Until October 2025, Kaan K was the Workshops Lead at PIRC, where they supported campaigners and community organisers with their story telling. They co-organised a year-long narrative power course, designed alongside participants.
Kaan has run workshops for organisations including NEON, All About Trans, The Advocacy Academy, The Girl Guides, ULEX, Solace Women’s Aid, Sexpression, NCS The Challenge, Anti University and London Queer Writers. They have worked with schools and universities across the UK, and they facilitate for all ages. To book, just get in touch with the kind of workshop you have in mind. Lower prices/free workshops will be considered for grassroots organisations/small community projects.
Further info for facilitation geeks – Kaan trained as a facilitator with Campaign Bootcamp in 2015, and in 2019 participated in Training for Change’s training for trainers. In 2023 they participated in a course by Huddlecraft about peer-to-peer learning approaches. Their workshop style is influenced by direct education, experiential learning, emergent design, peer-to-peer and participatory learning methodologies. They are trauma-informed and their practice is rooted in abolition, disability activism and community care.
Kaan’s workshop inspired me to explore drag and I started putting my own act together afterwards! Their soft spoken facilitation style is pretty unique; I think people felt like they were in a safe space to express themselves and that they could trust the other participants which definitely helped everyone get more out of it. Everyone wanted to do it again by the end and support each other through their journeys

When I attended Kaan’s self-care and writing workshop, I was new to the UK and unsure what to expect. Kaan’s gentle, attuned facilitation style made me feel immediately at home, and helped me feel able to play, explore, and take risks in my writing. I also appreciated that Kaan made space for each workshop participant to feel connected and heard. I’d love to take more workshops with Kaan!
Rona, poetry as self care workshop participant
Kaan facilitated a wonderful space simultaneously filled with laughter, play and also some deep learning. I felt open and encouraged to play with new ideas and try something that was a little out of my comfort zone and have a dang good time while doing it! Thank you for your thoughtful encouragement and the confidence that fostered

Kaan facilitated a brilliant ‘self-care for trans activists’ session for All About Trans in September 2020. The session was so thoughtfully prepared and calmly facilitated, with a great mix of practical exercises and space for sharing and discussion. Kaan did a brilliant job of creating an open, safe and nourishing space and I left the session feeling so calm and grounded, and with lots of practical self-care exercises up my sleeve. I would recommend Kaan’s work to anyone and everyone!
Madeleine, All About Trans
Kaan made me feel really comfortable and able to engage on my own terms, in my own time… I knew it was a safe place to be trans non-binary – we were unpicking gender, with no particular model for what drag kinging had to look like… After this workshop I went on to perform drag for the first time! The session really catalysed my desire to give it a go.
